There's a reason white fence paint never goes out of fashion. It works. At TA Industrial Paints, we make ours in-house at our Wolverhampton facility, so there's no compromise on quality. A bright white fence lifts the whole feel of an outdoor space. It works with cottage gardens, neat suburban plots and contemporary paving schemes alike.

Ours is formulated to resist the yellowing that plagues cheaper alternatives, staying genuinely white through the seasons. Available in gloss and enamel finishes, across 1L, 2.5L and 5L sizes with free delivery on qualifying orders.

White Garden Fence Paint

White garden fence paint is one of those choices that earns its keep all year round. In summer, it bounces light around. In winter, it keeps things looking cared-for even when everything else has died back. It's a practical pick just as much as an aesthetic one.

Here's what's in our white range:

  • White Wood Paint: a gloss finish for timber fences, gates and outdoor structures, available in three colour variants.
  • White Enamel Paint: a tough, hardwearing formula that performs well on a variety of surfaces.
  • Exterior Fence & Shed Paint: a multi-purpose option available in white as part of its 32-colour range.
  • Custom Fence & Shed Paint: a 3-in-1 oil-based PU enamel that primes, seals and protects in a single product.

All are touch dry in as little as 2–4 hours and can be applied by brush, roller or spray. Multi-buy discounts are available if you're covering a large area. Not sure whether gloss or enamel is the better fit for your project? Drop us a line and we'll help you choose the right product.

FAQs

Why does white fence paint go yellow, and how do I avoid it?

White fence paint turning yellow is usually caused by low-quality resins breaking down under UV exposure. It can also happen when applying oil-based paint in a poorly ventilated area. Our white fence paints are formulated to resist this, but surface prep matters too. Start with a clean dry surface and avoid painting in direct strong sunlight. A primer coat on bare timber also helps maintain the true white tone over time.

How do I keep a white fence looking clean between repaints?

A garden hose or a soft brush with mild soapy water goes a long way. Mould and algae are the main culprits for discolouration. This is common in shaded or north-facing gardens across the Midlands and North. A diluted fungicidal wash once a year keeps growth at bay. This means your topcoat lasts considerably longer before needing a refresh.

Is white fence paint harder to apply than darker colours?

White fence paint is not harder to apply in terms of the application itself. But white is less forgiving of an uneven finish than darker shades. Drips and lap marks are more visible. Take your time, use a decent brush or roller, and work in sections. Two thin, even coats will always look better than one thick one. In cooler or damper conditions, allow extra drying time between coats.

Can white fence paint be used on brick or stone walls as well as timber?

Yes, our Exterior Fence & Shed Paint and Custom Fence & Shed Paint are both multi-surface formulas. They work on wood, metal, concrete, stone and brick. If you're painting a rendered garden wall or stone boundary, make sure the surface is sound dry and free from flaking. A masonry primer can help if the surface is particularly porous or absorbent.

How long will white fence paint last before it needs redoing?

That depends on the product, the surface, and the conditions it's exposed to. Generally, a well-applied coat on prepared timber in a sheltered spot can last three to five years before needing attention. South-facing fences in full sun or those exposed to persistent damp will need checking sooner. Touching up any worn patches early is far easier than a full repaint later.
