FAQs
What is marine spray paint used for?
Marine spray paint is used to coat, protect, and finish surfaces on boats, barges, and other marine equipment, offering a high-gloss, UV-resistant finish. Spray paint is ideal for hard-to-reach areas, touch-ups, and detailed work such as signage or markings, rather than coating entire boats. It can be used on hulls, decks, metal fittings, and engine parts depending on the formula chosen.
Do I need a primer before using marine spray paint?
In most cases, yes. A primer prepares the surface, improves adhesion and gives your topcoat something solid to bond with. Skipping the primer can lead to peeling or poor durability down the line. We stock marine primer in aerosol form so the prep stage is just as straightforward as the topcoat.
How hot can your heat resistant marine spray paint get?
Our heat-resistant spray paints are available in different temperature ratings to suit a range of applications. Lower temperature options can withstand up to 160°C, while higher performance coatings are available up to 250°C and 700°C. The 250°C and 700°C variants are available in matt black or silver finishes. These paints are ideal for use on areas close to engines, exhausts, and other high-heat components on marine vessels.
What size do your marine spray paint aerosols come in?
All of our marine aerosol spray paints come in 400ml cans. This size is practical for most marine maintenance jobs and gives you enough coverage without excess.
